 The actress had just played Brandon Teena in the film Boys Don't Cry and I was somehow expecting someone more androgynous. She was tiny, very feminine, and quite happy to take direction -- something a bit of success and an attentive agent breeds out of most actors. I didn't give much, except to tell her to make herself smaller. As with most jobs, I had little to work with besides a well-lit corner in a hotel room. |
