 The backdrop is rented - a reproduction of a Victorian portrait photographer's canvas, originally made for a t.v. movie. I've always loved the look of early photography, the combination of effects achieved as the photographer strives for the look of a painting, while constrained by the strict technical limitations of primitive early photography. Photography today has become so slick - I often think it's nice to see the imperfections and accidents of early photography, for a change. |
