| I'd had the idea of a backdrop covered in writing for years - in fact, I'd cooked up the idea for an earlier opportunity to shoot Dulli and his band. I filed it until I got the call to shoot Dulli while he was in town doing promo for his band's new record. A courtesy call to the record company to ask just what he didn't want me to write on the backdrop presented a snag; he said that anything was alright as long as it was in Italian. Fine - I called up a friend and asked him to translate some phrases for me, phrases like "I have an honest face", "I will be a good boy" and "The only woman I have ever loved is my mother". |
